Minnesota Department of Administration - MMCAP
The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) and the MN Department of Administration needed an experienced web agency to re-platform their existing MMCAP Infuse login site to the latest version of Drupal. They chose Nighthawk because of our in-depth knowledge in website planning, Drupal CMS, user experience (UX) research, architecture, design, and implementation.
Minnesota Department of Administration - MMCAP Infuse Website
MMCAP Infuse is a national cooperative group purchasing organization (GPO) for government facilities that provide healthcare services. MMCAP Infuse's mission is to ensure best value for pharmaceuticals and healthcare products and services to government facilities across the nation through executing contracts that leverage aggregated member volume to drive deeper discounts.
The Need
The existing MMCAP Infuse web application was running on outdated and unsupported technology, including Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2008, and Net 4.0 on Visual Studio 2010. The infrastructure posed a security risk in addition to a stability risk. Known security vulnerabilities had limited MMCAP Infuse's ability to make and publish changes. Maintenance of the application required a unique skillset that is not applicable to other applications. The existing web application gave the end user the impression that they were on a different website with obsolete content, because it was left over from an old website.
The Solution
The replacement web application was built to require little maintenance, while allowing MMCAP Infuse users to easily maintain documents presented in the web application and easily maintain the list of users who can access the web application. The secure web content delivered in the web application was built to integrate seamlessly with the content on infuse-mn.gov (built in SDL Tridion), so that a user feels as though they are on the same website with the same branding including URLs, headers, footers, etc. Content from the legacy site (https:/www.mmd.admin.state.mn.us/MMCAP/) was migrated to the new site. This work resulted in a website that is on current secured technology (built on the latest version of Drupal), meets accessibility requirements, and allows MMCAP Infuse to keep documents up to date.
